Hi everyone!  My name is Fatima.  I’m a blogger who focuses on anything that’s fashion-forward and fabulous.  My journey as a Fashion lover has been a long one. I’ve loved style since I was a little girl, but I was born and raised in Japan, and the trends weren’t exactly the same as what was happening in America.  To make matters more difficult, my parents weren’t exactly into style. Their idea of what was appropriate for a little girl in Japan to wear did not necessarily fit with what I dreamed of looking like. I still remember the time when they bought me a Laura Ashley dress that they thought was so beautiful.  I was mortified –it just seemed like a huge piece of a floral curtain to me (even though I could rock that dress now with a leather jacket, I certainly didn’t want to then!)

I was so enamored with American culture, and continued to watch everything that I could get my hands on.  Right around the time that I entered middle school, I found two movies that showed me that everything that I had dreamt about style and fashion could be possible.  The first was Legally Blonde, and we all know how Reese Witherspoon rocked the Elle Woods’ look. The second was The Devil Wears Prada, and — I just have no words to describe the impeccable, amazing fashion that was throughout that movie.

After that, my mind was made up.  I came to America when I was 18 to go to college so that I can be close to my inspiration. After I moved to United States, my inspiration was no longer only coming from the media but also from actual living people who I came across as well. I also remember the day I discovered Pinterest and I had multiple sleepless nights looking for new ideas like I was craving for creativity. The blogging world was revealed to me soon after that and it became my happy place. Window shopping became my new hobby and fashion became my tool to express myself.

However, it wasn’t enough for me anymore, so I chose blogging hoping for it to be my new outlet to connect with people who share the same passion. So then TheFameleonI.com was born. I chose the name Fameleon (pronounce like chameleon with F) after my best friend said that my look and vibe change every single day.  I’m like a chameleon when I chose outfit. So, we combined the word chameleon, with the first letter of my first name.

I am so thrilled that I get to share my fashion point of view through this blog. I want this blog to be also the place where we can inspire each other as well!
