Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year to those celebrating! As a Japanese, I’ve always celebrated New Year’s on January 1st, so I’ve never observed the Lunar New Year before. However, after living in the U.S. for so long and experiencing different cultures, I’ve slowly developed an interest in it. Plus, my 23andMe results say I’m 1.2% Chinese, so I have even more reason to celebrate!

I visited Chinatown in San Francisco early in the morning, and they were slowly preparing for the New Year celebration. There were some students, probably on field trips, and shops were getting ready to open. Red lanterns were everywhere, and it looked beautiful! I’ve been eyeing the Chinese dresses from Sau Lee for years, and I finally found one I really liked. They release new designs and colors every year, but since they’re not cheap, I wanted to wait until I found something I truly loved. I received so many compliments while walking through Chinatown in this dress, and I love how it’s figure-hugging and makes me feel so confident! If you’re looking for a beautiful Chinese dress, I highly recommend Sau Lee—you’ll definitely find a cut and color you love!
