Shibuya & Shinjuku Photoshoot

Today I want to share my photoshoot experience in Japan! When a business trip to Japan was decided, I knew I had to book at least one photoshoot. While I was searching for my Airbnb, I came across a photographer that took such a cool vivid photo at night in the Shibuya area. The moment I saw his images, I knew I had to squeeze this photo-sesh into my schedule. My office in Japan is located in Shibuya, so it worked out perfectly to shoot after work!

6 spots we shot in order.

新宿 Shinjuku (just outside the station)

歌舞伎町 Kabukicho

思い出横丁Omoide Yokocho

ヨドバシカメラ新宿西口店 Yodobashi Camera Shinjuku Nishiguchiten

のんべい横丁 Nonbei Yokocho

渋谷交差点Shibuya Crossing

After I finished working, I quickly changed to this bold orange dress matching the bright orange bag. I touched up my makeup (didn’t have time for my hair lol) and met up with Akira in Shinjuku station. Shinjuku station was just ginormous and there were so many exits that I got lost for a good 15 minutes even with my GPS on. According to my web search, Shinjuku station is the busiest railway station in the world with about 3.6 million people passing through it a day, which also holds a Guinness World Record! No wonder I got lost lol. I was born and raised in Japan, but Tokyo is just on another level!

Fortunately, I was able to meet up with Akira, and we started our photoshoot journey from just outside the Shinjuku station. He was so efficient that we were pretty quick on each spot. I didn’t feel that I was rushed, it was just right. I also pose quickly too, so I felt we were pretty in sync. We chatted about why we ended up in Tokyo in between taking pictures and walked to 4 different spots in Shinjuku area. It was pretty nice that he got me coffee from Konbini (Convenience store) which was apparently included in this walking photo tour package 😉 I would never say no to free coffee haha. After we finished up taking pictures in front of many serious Pokémon Go players at the last spot around Shinjuku station, Yodobashi Camera, we hopped on the train to Shibuya station, which is apparently the 2nd busiest station in the world!

In Shibuya, we hit 2 different spots for photos, which are the world’s busiest pedestrian crossings, called Shibuya Crossing and Nonbei Yokocho. I pretty much signed up for this session to get cool pics at Shibuya crossing, so I was over the moon when we got there 🙂 I was filled with joy and so happy I decided to do a photoshoot! They came out pretty amazing 😉 Love all the vibrant color coming from billboards and neon signs. It was one of my first time having my picture taken at nighttime, so it was a pretty fun experience! I highly recommend you to book him if you want to have some cool pictures to keep for your memory album! Let me hear what you think of these photos!
