11 Jun Mother Daughter Spring Photoshoot

Spring is almost over, but I cannot welcome summer without sharing these precious images with you!  In early May, I met up with Kelly, who did Katerina’s newborn photography, to do a mini spring photoshoot session. The place we did a photoshoot was called Fossil hill trailhead in Walnut Creek and it was such a hidden gem. The place was filled with poppies since California was experiencing a superbloom this year. I don’t know how to describe the feeling when I was there, but I just felt all my worries washed away and surrounded by calmness. Since this photoshoot, it has become one of my favorite spots to take a walk with Katya. Erik, Katya and I also did a small hike one time. If you don’t go far, it is pretty flat and it’s perfect for a casual stroll with coffee. This place is still a hidden gem that doesn’t get crowded but we see a good number of people walking dogs. It is literally a perfect place to take Katya to tire herself out since she gets so excited about doggies, screams “dodo”, and runs around with so much happiness haha.

Enough about this awesome location, let me tell you about the photoshoot. Kelly had the cutest flower shop prop and it was so damn cute! Katya, unfortunately, didn’t care enough to stay there to pose, but instead, we got some cute pictures of us with a flower field. It is always good to lower your expectations when you take pictures with kids. My tip is not to stress about crossing off the list of pictures you want and making everything perfect, but rather go with the flow and be in the moment with the kids. Photographers are professional, so they can capture the perfectly candid and sweet moment of you guys. I really enjoy these shoots and I’m glad I get to look back and remember the day 🙂 Outfit details follow below.
