Easter in Sausalito

Hoppy Easter to you all! (Get it!?) I’m not a Christian here, but I like celebrating Easter; mainly for the food and bunny decoration 🙂 This year, since Katya can walk now, we decided to participate in an Easter egg hunt in Sausalito.

So, let me share a bunch of totally staged photos of Katerina’s 1st Easter egg hunt. The egg hunt started at 10:15am sharp as they mentioned in event detail, and we got there a minute late. (No, they don’t have a grace period for people like me. I am always a late one lol.) Because we ran to wherever was the closest to us, she happened to enter in the section for the older age group. All the eggs were pretty much taken by the time she got to the first egg, but she preferred putting garbage into her basket lol. I’m not going to take a picture with garbage in her basket, so we planted some eggs (which were already emptied by other kids) for her instead to grab. Parents of the year, right? She was so clueless but it was so cute 🙂 Better luck next year!

After the egg hunt was over, the event had some activity going on. There was a singer singing a kids’ song. Little kids were sitting around her with parents listening, and some kids were dancing with the beat. I liked a song about bees buzzing; it was a sweet song that made my body move with rhythm naturally. We took Katya to Easter Bunny, which we for sure traumatized her. She will probably bring up this experience to a therapist if she ever goes. Sorry Katya! Why is the Easter bunny always creepy though? They better improve that lol. We took some pictures of traumatic experiences for memories, then we walked toward the main area of Sausalito to eat lunch.

We found this cute restaurant called Joinery and I ordered a Porchetta sandwich.  Katya was obsessed with Sour Patch Kids candy that she got from the Easter event, and didn’t care too much about real food. There were some people who clearly came from the same Easter event and they were high on sugar lol. After we demolished the food, we walked more to find me a coffee. I’m always happy to walk miles if there is such a magnificent view as Sausalito and there is a coffee at the end 😉 Every time I visit Sausalito, I feel like I am in a small European town. In fact, I hear some European languages when I am there. I guess Sausalito is a popular spot for them to visit. Not sure they are locals or tourists, but maybe Sausalito reminds them of home.

I booked a spa treatment at 7:45pm, so we had so much time to kill. We went to 2 different parks to tire her out, then we headed to Cavallo Point.  They have lodging, dining, a spa and some experiences like cooking class. It is located by the Golden Gate Bridge and has a huge property. The green area surrounded by the buildings is so big that it is perfect for picnics and kids to run around. We needed to eat dinner, so we went into one of their dining called Farley. There was a deck that oversaw the Golden Gate Bridge but since we made the decision to eat there at the last minute, the best spots were already taken. Regardless, they had good food with good ambiance! Even though we were with Katya, we treated the day as date night and indulged in food. I am always down for charcuterie board and oysters 😉

It was finally time for my appointment. Outside was already dark, and with my full tummy and gorgeous smell of spa, I could easily fall asleep on the massage bed. The spa inside was so cozy with dimmed lights and a fireplace going. There was a shower filled with luxurious goods, a sauna, a pool, and a variety of herb teas all complimentary with a booked spa treatment. I just had time to drink herb tea, and it was time to get a 60-minute organic massage. The massage was so heavenly; I felt like all the weights were lifted that I could fly. No joke! I absolutely loved the smell of massage oil and the feeling of a hot towel on me. When I got back after the massage was done, they were watching Cocomelon on the phone in the waiting area 😉 Grateful to both of them! It was such a long but fun family day! Hope you had a fabulous day today!

Happy Easter!
