Vday & Bday Weekend by The Beach

Love day is here! Because Valentine’s Day is randomly on Tuesday, we mainly celebrated on my B-day weekend. Not a big fan of combining Vday with my Bday, but I was okay since my bday party is happening later anyway. Did you celebrate Vday with your loved one last weekend or today?

We were at the beach house to spend some chill weekend. It was so calming, and my favorite part about the beach house is listening to ocean waves to fall asleep. I’ve never had such a quality of sleep anywhere except at the beach house. Needless to say, we cannot celebrate my birthday without including some form of shopping. We went to Carmel, which is my top 3 favorite place in California, to spend a day browsing local shops.

Just when we arrived in Carmel, it started hailing and we got soaking wet. You can see Katya trying to process what has happened to her while she was playing with her toy phone. We ran into a restaurant where we knew they had oysters and ordered half a dozen oysters. Oysters are another favorite of mine. I think my camera roll is full of oysters from the restaurants hehe. The sky cleared up while we were at the restaurant, so we walked around and our clothes soon dried up after the sun finally came up. Of course, I needed unlimited coffee, so I lined up to get one at the famous local Bakery(always a long line) and walked some more.

After a successful window shopping trip, we watched the sunset from deck and moved onto movie night with “The Devil Wears Prada”, another favorite of mine. Before we headed down to Carmel, we went to the beach right in front of the house to see its current state. Because of the recent storm and flooding, the beach was full of wood and other stuff that was washed up. I saw on the news that Capitola, which is 10 miles away from us, was destroyed due to the storm. Hope those who were affected can get back to normal life and recover from the losses.

Today, the actual Vday, both of us worked from home and we didn’t do anything special. I wanted to make it still memorable, so I cooked garlic butter lobster tail. This was my first attempt, but it was surprisingly delish! How was your Valentine’s Day? Whether you celebrate it with your partner or friends, hope you had lots of fun!

Some fashion stuff: My pink bodycon off shoulder dress is more than 5 years old and it’s from Majorelle. My pink blazer is from J. Crew, and my white sweater is from Naadam. My bag is a recent addition to celebrate my 30th and from Prada. I am planning to do a dedicated blog post for this, so stay tuned! Katya’s personalized sweater is from Etsy and it’s the sweetest thing!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
