School Girl Inspired

Once upon a time, I went to junior high and high school in Japan wearing a school uniform. I loved wearing them every day as it saved me time to think about the outfit. It was not just for the convenience, but also because it’s a symbol of youth. Luckily, my school uniform was pretty fashion forward, and thanks to that, I have such a fond memory of my school days.

When I saw this white pleated skirt, it brought back my happy memory, so I wanted to create an outfit with it. I added a blazer as an homage to my student year; my school uniform was blazer type and not a sailor style. We all had to wear loafers to school, so I chose chunky heel loafers to elongate the bare part of my legs. This was such a fun project to recreate school uniforms that close to 30 years old can wear! I want to explore preppy outfits more in 2023!
