Newborn photoshoot!

Katya finally did a newborn photoshoot! Usually, it is ideal to do a newborn photoshoot when they are 7-15 days old. They do it while they are less than 2 weeks old because photographers can put babies in any poses while they stay sleeping. I didn’t even know about newborn photography till I saw them on Instagram after 2 weeks from giving a birth. I was late on booking game so I literally contacted over 30 photographers before I finally found Kelly!

A lot of photographers were booked completely and some of them weren’t confident to shoot because of Katya’s age. Now, you can imagine how hard it was for me to book a photographer! I found out later that people book newborn photoshoot 3-6 months before the due date. Of course, just like my glam maternity photoshoot, I was so late on booking haha. Anyway, I was so glad Kelly could to do the photoshoot for her. I really wanted to document her cute details for me to look back and remember how tiny and precious she was đŸ™‚

Since she was almost 7 weeks old and more awake during the day, Kelly recommended me to feed her right before the shoot and keep the room warm for her to fall asleep. Overall, she did pretty good but she took 20 min to fall asleep for the first look. Amazingly, Kelly was so patient with her. She brought space heater to keep her even warmer and tapping her back rhythmically to put her into sleep.

When she finally fell asleep, Kelly put her into poses. Unfortunately, she woke up in less than 3 minutes after few shots ahaha. Kelly brought so much backdrops, props, and outfits. It was so hard for me to choose the looks, because everything was so tiny and sweet!

I could not handle her cuteness while Kelly was taking pictures. She smiled couple times and Kelly succeeded to take a little smirk shot! I also had angel wings and sweater onesie for her to wear which we were able to include in shoot! We had to move fast and be very patient with her to get variety of pictures. We had strategy down and we did our best! If I am blessed to have 2nd baby, I will definitely book newborn photography in advance 😉 Thank you Kelly for these priceless photos! I will forever cherish them!
