28 Dec 2 Months with Katya

Katya is 2 months young today!! Wow!!

She is 9lb 13.3oz (13^th percentile), and 21.5 inch long (10^th percentile). When I look back her few days old pictures, the difference is very obvious. She was adorable but scrawny when she was born, but now she has some rolls which I’m totally obsessed! 

Other than her appearance, she reached some developmental milestones. 

• Steadily lift and control her head.  She can hold her neck longer.
• Following a person with her eyes as the person moves around a room.
• Batting or swiping at nearby objects.
• Smiling on purpose, such as in response to another person (called a “social smile”).

Especially her new skill “social smile”, she is killing me with her cuteness! I really cannot wait to hear her giggle!!

As for feeding, Katya is eating more and more; now she eats 6oz in 10 minutes sometimes. Because she eats more and I slowed down on pumping, breastmilk supply is not enough anymore. All the extra breastmilk I stored are now gone since Katya completely caught up with it. So now, we bottle feed both breastmilk and formula. 

We prefer to give her 6oz formula as the last feeding of the day. I just feel that formula is heavier so that it helps Katya to sleep longer 🙂 The longer Katya sleeps at night, the happier mommy becomes haha. Except the last feeding, we feed 4oz each time unless she wants more. Usually, she is satisfied with 4oz but she drunk almost double the amount few times. This is something that we are going by what she wants and adjusting as she grows. Cannot wait to see her grow chunkier!!
