Maternity Photoshoot in Maui

Today’s post is exciting one for me because I get to share our very first maternity shoot with you! As soon as I found out that I was pregnant, I knew I had to have million maternity photoshoots.  Since we were going to be in Maui for Erik’s best friend’s wedding, I thought why not take an advantage of beautiful scenery there!

I have taken pictures with our baby girl before, but it was Erik’s first. I was so excited for our very first family photo of 3 🙂 I was 23 weeks pregnant with her when these pictures were taken. My belly was still not the significant size, but glad we could capture her in this stage.

Love + Water photography does photoshoot session during sunrise and sunset. If you choose sunrise session, you will get pastel tone images, and sunset session would be more vivid tone. It would be beautiful with either time, but since we were flying out in the evening on the photoshoot day, sunrise session was the only option for us.

We met up at the beach called Ulua beach within Wailea resort area. Our plan was to meet up there at 5:45 am to catch the moon (pretty cool), however, there was no Uber or Lyft driver available at the time. Since we were only 6 min away from the beach, the photographer, Adam kindly offered to pick us up. We got there around 6:10 am, and I was relieved that we could still manage to get pretty images with sunrise backdrop. If you are planning to have photoshoot session in Wailea, my advice for you is to book the uber in advance or to rent a car. To my surprise, there were not many drivers available throughout the day even Wailea is popular area for tourist. I am sure Covid has also something to do with that.

Going back to our photoshoot experience, I highly recommend to sunrise session because there were virtually no one around us, so we could enjoy the photoshoot in more private and quiet matter. Especially if you are planning to pose in nude (applaud to your confidence!), then it will be the ideal time to do so.

After we finished our 30 min session, Adam gifted us cute goody bag which was such a sweet touch 🙂 We asked him where to get our morning coffee, and he suggested to walk along the beach to explore Wailea resort area since there were a couple of good options. It was so calming to walk on the beach in the morning with Erik, and I enjoyed a lot.  We walked around till we got hungry, then we went into a cute café to sit down and eat breakfast 😉 After we finished breakfast, we waked around more, and that was pretty much it for our Wailea adventure. I might share more about our Hawaii trip in separate post! Hope this post helps you in any ways if you are thinking to book photoshoot session in Maui. See you in the next post!
