Putters or Pearls!?

Our gender reveal video is here!! On week 20th of my pregnancy, we did a mini back yard gender reveal with Erik’s side of immediate family. Erik and I went to 2nd ultrasound appointment to check whether our baby is growing healthy or not in more detail. They performed ultrasound through both vaginally and belly. TMI but I don’t think I will ever get used to vaginal ultrasound due to how uncomfortable that is. In the end, I would do anything for our baby though.

The lady who performed ultrasound asked us if we wanted to know the gender right there in that moment or seal the result in the envelop. Because we had mini gender reveal in our minds, we told her not to share with us yet. So, when she was moving onto checking baby’s gender, she told us to close our eyes so we wouldn’t accidently find its gender out looking at the big screen monitor.

After all the screening was done, it was such a relief hearing from doctor that baby looked great, and I could most likely deliver the baby on full term. We got the envelop from the sonographer before we left the room, and as you can see, we were pretty excited for all the good news and envelop! In terms of how to reveal gender, Erik had been telling me that he wanted to be the person to give the gender away. Since he is into golf nowadays, he loved the idea of golf theme gender reveal. We appointed Erik’s sister, Vanessa to “the keeper of the gender” who was responsible to order a gender reveal golf ball and a bit of decoration without giving the gender away. We gave her the very top secret envelop and left to our 4th of July road trip 😉 I remember that the gender of the baby was our frequent topic while we were on the trip.

On July 6th, all the supply for mini gender reveal arrived. Since we could no longer wait to know our baby’s gender, we decided that it was the day to do it. Especially Erik was getting antsy that we quickly gather his parents and sister to the back yard to smash the gold ball (Erik’s brother was on the phone). After few practice swings and enough stretching, Erik was ready to go for it. Previously, we gathered our family and friends’ guesses, and 90% of them said boy. My grandma and dad even insisted that it would be a boy by just looking at the sonogram. It was so funny how sure my dad was by claiming that the baby’s skull shaped as boy’s one lol. If you follow me on Instagram, you know the result already, but if you have not, here is the video for you to find out 😉 I love re-watching this video to relive the moment that we found out!

As you can see, WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!! You can hear in the raw footage that I said we were all wrong lol. Literally most of us got it wrong including myself. I even wore blue dress thinking we were having a boy haha. I am so excited to have mini me and cannot wait to dress her up 😉 Say hello to credit card, here comes lots of swiping!
