Sonogram and Self-Portrait

Happy weekend! Hope you are doing well ðŸ™‚ Today, I want to share my outfit and little bit about my pregnancy journey. I am currently on week 26th of pregnancy. It is very wild to think that I am almost done with my 2nd trimester. Our baby is very active, and making me smile every time I can feel the move! When I took these outfit pictures with Elizabeth, I was on 14 weeks. I could not feel any movement, and my belly was not showing much unless I wore tight clothing. I remember I was so nervous every day whether our baby was okay. On week 14, even though the risk of miscarriage went significantly down, and entered the safe time to share the happy news, I was not comfortable to spread the words to friends yet. Every doctor visit, I was nervous thinking worst case scenario such as baby’s heartbeat stopping.

On Mother’s Day, I was 12 weeks pregnant which was safe time to start telling people, so we decided to only share the news with Erik’s immediate family member. It made us so happy to see them excited! Also, I felt better when I talked about my concern because they understood where I was coming from. That was very reassuring, and I felt supported. I really wish I could see my doctor at least every 2 weeks because 4 weeks between appointments are too long when you can’t feel any sign of baby’s wellbeing yet.

After looking at this very first pictures I took with my baby in the form of sonogram, I remember feeling happier than feeling anxious and nervous. If you are pregnant and nervous not knowing your baby’s wellbeing, I want to tell you that it is completely normal and okay to feel that way. I shared the news with my side of family on week 14th. And after that, I pretty much texted my mom to express my worries every day. She had miscarriage before, so she was very understanding of my worry and was there to listen to me.  I am repeatedly reminding myself that it is okay to worry and that is part of the journey 😉 I still have many concerns but slowly learning to enjoy this pregnancy. Can’t wait to share more about my journey with you!

Moving on to this outfit, I have confession that I had a little mishap. When I wore this self-portrait dress last year to celebrate my 1-year blog anniversary (read here), I could easily get into this dress. However, it was not the case this time, and unfortunately, zipper broke when I bent down to adjust my straps of sandals. It was like zipper exploded out of my back to be honest haha. Even though my weight at that point was only about + 1lb compared to pre-pregnancy, I realized my body was definitely changing. Elizabeth and I got good laugh out of it and tried to close the back, but we couldn’t do so completely. We still took pictures because this outfit was too good to pass it up 😉 I love this dress paired with my blue Valentino Rockstud bag. This color combo pleases my eyes! Hope you enjoy this outfit as much as I do! See you in the next post 😉
