Ski Trip to Tahoe

The end of February was wedding anniversary weekend for Erik & I. We wanted to have a little getaway trip to celebrate our anniversary. Since my sister-in-law and we wanted to ski this year at least once, three of us decided to go to Tahoe. There is a family cabin up there in Tahoe, so on Friday afternoon we left to get there. Tahoe is about 3 and half hour drive to get there, and on the way, I was on my laptop working. I don’t own skies, so I went to Tahoe Dave’s to rent my ski gears. I also bought my ski gloves there. We watched 2 movies before we went to bed, and it was pretty chill day 🙂

Saturday was our ski day. I was quite nervous since I haven’t skied for 4 years. I am not athletically gifted, and I was afraid that I might die from skiing. I love the idea of ski; cold air touches face and smell of fresh air while going down the hill. After few runs, grabbing a hot cocoa and chatting while looking at beautiful snow and tree scenery. To motivate myself and forget about fear, I decided to splurge on my first ski outfit (I always borrowed outfit). I discovered this brand called Goldbergh while I was searching cute outfit on Instagram, and I was sold on houndstooth onesie. It is skin tight which shows my figure as well as keeping me super warm. It came with the brand logo belt and plain black belt, so you can choose which to wear. I was so in love with faux far hoodie that I had to get this outfit. I felt so good wearing this outfit that I cared less about my fear of death. This outfit definitely gave confident 😉 I got so many compliments wearing this. I got compliments from the ski resort as well as restaurant that we went in after the ski.  As long as I love what I am wearing I don’t care if others feel the same way, however, it is a big plus when they do 😉 So happy I bought it!

We started skiing at Northstar around 8:30 am. We did 6-7 runs mainly blue square, and we went up to the top to rest a little (well I needed a break). I ordered hot cocoa which all three of us took turns to drink it. After a quick break, we did about 3 runs till 1pm and started to head back to cabin. I fell 3 times total. After the first fall at steep hill on blue square, I got so scared that I got into funk. Blue square looked like a cliff to me suddenly that I only wanted to go down green circle. There are some funny stories from this ski trip because I chickened out lol. I wish you were there to witness it haha. We finished skiing around 1pm because we were traveling with SIL’s huskies, Koda & Kylo that we wanted to get back to cabin to let them out of their kennels.

We had reservation at Gar Woods at 4:30pm for lunch/dinner. We sat outside with beautiful lake view, and it was magnificent. If you go there, lobster bisque is a must to order. It is so delicious! I don’t really drink alcohol but they like to order wet woody. We ordered lobster bisque & steamed clams for the table. Steamed clam was to die for and this became another must for me. I ordered myself teriyaki salmon salad. It was more for salmon than salad (I’m not salad person).  After the fabulous meals, free show of skinny dipping men, some compliments of outfits later, we went back to cabin to watch more movies and talk.

On Sunday, it was our last day in Tahoe. We walked dogs, cleaned cabin and headed home. I was so sore from the ski and I barely could move lol. Overall, it was fun and memorable trip. I want to go back to ski again with new outfit next time 🙂 Hope you are having great weekend!
