A Day in Carmel

Happy October! Today’s post is about a little trip we took 3 weeks ago! We went to beach house for the weekend in Santa Cruz area then before we leave the area, we decided to quickly visit Carmel. I love to visit Carmel- by – the – Sea whenever I go to beach house because it is only an hour away and atmosphere there is fabulous. It is very close to the famous Monterey as well, so if you are visiting Monterey, you can stop by at Carmel.

When I go to Carmel, I just walk around to pop into some local shops and café. The touristy area is very small and it only takes few hours to look everything. I like to grab a coffee and waking down to the beach while looking at shops. There are many restaurants on the streets which all of them looks posh and cute. I love to visit ornament shop. I don’t have my own Christmas tree, but it is too cute not to go. They have many art galleries and real estate shops which Erik and I have fun time visiting even though we cannot afford any. It is our fun time pretending to be rich haha.

The day we visited Carmel; I was craving oyster so we were searching restaurant that has them. There are few restaurants that serve oyster and we were able to get into the place called Flaherty’s Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar. This weekend was busier than usual that many restaurants were packed. We ordered half dozen oyster, shellfish risotto, fish& chips, virgin bloody mary and beer. It was so satisfying! Oyster was so delicious that I was drinking them than eating them haha.  One thing that I definitely recommend you is the risotto! It was just so beyond what I normally taste in risotto. Ahh I can still taste it! After we indulge delicious food, we walked around to see some shops. It was so funny when we found this bar/restaurant signed that says husband day care lol. And of course, we had to take pictures 😉 It was very chill day and I hope one day you visit there and feel the atmosphere yourself! Even summer time, it could get cold, so make sure you bring jacket 🙂
