05 Jul On July 4th
Happy 4th of July to you! This year I didn’t know what to do on this big American holiday due to covid-19. I had an outfit in my mind, but there was no event to go to. My husband and I didn’t plan where to go except we wanted to end the day with take-out sushi from our favorite restaurant. In the end, we decided to walk around the downtown Pleasanton for a bit and get gelato. Then, go get dinner and watch movie together.
When we got there, the down town was blocked to drive in, so we parked our car nearby and walked in. Mask was of course required to get in. The restaurants were open to serve, but seating was outdoor only. The seating was set on the road, and I saw many people enjoying food and alcohol. It was so hot out, and while we were walking on the street, we decided the we were going to do restaurant hop to drink. After some walking, we got to gelato shop. I ordered mango flavor and Erik ordered strawberry. It was very tasty and perfect for the hot weather. There were many tourists that were lining up, and they were all speaking Italian. I felt like I was in Italy for a minutes haha.
We finished our gelato and walked into a bar. When we were ordering drink, a server asked my ID which I forgot. I barely drink, so it is not my habit to carry around my ID. Because I forgot it, I couldn’t drink, and we didn’t go to the second bar. Lesson learn that I should always carry my ID 😉 After we talked a bit, we ordered sushi on the phone and went there to get our dinner. Also, on the way home I got my coffee (absolute necessity) 🙂 When we got home, we made margarita. We ate so fast that our dinner literally ended in 10 minutes. This sushi restaurant we love were where we went for our first date. We order two rolls each and also finished our dinner in 20 minutes. I remember that we were so focused on eating because we were both hungry.
There were some fireworks around our neighborhood and it was very festive. Afterwards, to decide one movie to watch, it took some times to agree on one, but we ended up watching Spencer Confidential on Netflix because we both likes Mark Wahlberg. So, that was my 4th of July! Did you do anything fun? Let me know in comment section!
