Popped a Cherry!

Over the Memorial weekend, Erik and I took a super quick trip to Brentwood to experience cherry picking. The reason why I wanted to go was first, I was spending way too many hours inside that I needed some fresh air, and second, I needed an excuse to wear my pink Hunter boots that I bought on last Black Friday. I have never picked cherry before and neither has he. In Brentwood, they have many fruits picking options, and we were debating between strawberry and cherry. In the end, I personally like cherry better than strawberry, so we decided to do cherry picking. We went to Mike’s U-Pick Cherries, and there were many people there, mostly family with small kids. We arrived there around 1:30pm and picked cherries for good an hour. Still quarantine, so we had to wear a mask which made it hotter under the sun. I didn’t know cherry grows in tree (don’t judge me lol) and I also didn’t know most of the ready to eat cherries were gone by the time we got there. There were some good darker red cherries, but they were super high up in the trees that we needed a ladder to get them. Until we saw an available ladder, we were jumping hard to pick cherries, and I was sweating hard. This U-pick closes at 3pm, so to avoid checkout line traffic, we left early. I saw some families having very successful cherry picking with garbage bag full of cherries! They ruled the cherry picking. For us, we couldn’t get much. They charge $3.50 per lb. and we paid only $5 for cherries! With the experience, it was such a fun and productive trip. We wanted to buy already picked cherry from them, but it was all sold out. Next year, we definitely do it again, but we will be there in the morning. Erik and I had good bonding experience, and I will recommend this to all of you! We will be back here for Peach picking as well! Can’t wait!
