Game of Bridal Shower

We talked about the bridal shower outfit in the last post. If you are a soon to be bride, hope you could get some inspiration for your upcoming bridal shower. For today’s post I want to talk about the games that we played at my bridal shower. I gave the full responsibility to my maid of honor, Sarah. She is the best MOH anybody could ask for!  We had total of 4 games at the shower.

First game was something we played from very beginning. Sarah gave out a bead necklace to each guest when they arrived to the shower, and she explained to them that they couldn’t mention Bride’s name (me!) until game ends. Whoever caught the person who said “Fatima” can take the person’s bead necklace. In the end, whoever ends up with the most necklaces gets the prize! I believe Nadine won that one, and my guess is she trick people to say my name. haha good job girl 😉

Second game we played was Bingo. I honestly love how Sarah chose this one, because it was a great ice-breaker. There were good amount of family and sorority friends, but my old co-workers and non-sorority friends didn’t know a lot of people there. Bingo made them talk and get to know a little bit of each other. It was great to see people getting competitive and enjoying the game. Even it was called bingo, we had to cross off every single box to be little bit more challenging. They had to find people that are described in boxed and get the initial from them. In the end, there was nobody who wore red lipstick and who was vegetarian, so 2 boxes couldn’t fill. I believe Palak won the bingo. Good job girl 🙂 I was only half way

Third game was “what was she wearing “, and Sarah tricked them good. Sarah gave them the instruction to pay attention to the items in the tray and remember as much as they can when I came around to their table. Obviously, guests are staring at tray when I walked by them and try to remember the items. I heard them screaming that they didn’t even know the names of the items haha. It was funny, because I felt the same way, when I played that game in other bridal showers. Anyway, after I showed the items to them twice, I hid myself from them. When they got the paper to fill out, it was totally different from what Sarah asked them to pay attention to. I mean she said that there was a twist, but I don’t think people were expected this twist. Instead of paying attention to the items in the tray, they had to pay attention to my outfit. I think Priscilla and Michelle tied for first place and in the end, Michelle won the prize. Great job paying attention to me 😉

The last game we played was called “would she rather?” It was interesting to see how much they know me. A lot of them thought that I prefer black & white over colorful. I do wear a lot of monotones, but my closet is also full of color and color makes me happy. If I have to choose one, I def live in colors haha. People were also surprised that I like action movie over romcom. Their reaction was like “who are you?’ They were confused about me. It was just so funny to see. They also went off when I chose cook dinner instead of do the dishes, because they know how much I don’t like to cook. Thing is that I hate cleaning more than cooking, and making instant noodle count as cooking (duh). One of them was like “you only need to turn on the dishwasher”, but growing up without one, I don’t really trust dishwasher ahaha. I am “I wash dishes with my hands” type. Easy question to them seemed to be live in a city vs country. I think most of them or everyone answered city. Overall, I am happy that there was none of them that got zero, because I was about to disinvite them to the wedding. Jk. My husband took the same test today, and he got 9 out 12. Pretty good. He got wrong in black & white vs colorful, date at the movie vs date at a concert, and farmer’s market vs supermarket. His excuse of color preference question was him being color blind which is a lie lol. I think Jackie got the prize! I’ve known her for 8 years now so I understand the outcome <3

So those are 4 games that we played at the shower. Hope this helps you if you are hosting bridal shower! I also want to thank my MOH Sarah. She did fab job and it was lots of laughter because of it. Love you!

To fun games and gatherings,

Fatima
