How to Layer a Sequin Dress

Holidays are here! This is the time of the year that you need to stock good amount of festive attires. This is also the time of the year that you can get away with wearing as many sequin outfits as you want. As a lover of anything sparkle, this is the best time of the year to buy a lot of sequin items. When I wear sequin, it gives me all the confidence in the world I need. Not to exaggerate but I can truly be who I am in it. When I die, I definitely want to be in a fabulous sequin outfit and bury in it too. If you are a sparkle lover like me do you understand this? Haha 😉

For today’s post, I wanted to introduce the way to layer a sequin dress. For Christmas and New Year festivities, it is a great occasion to wear a sequent item, however it could be a basic move too. If you want to spice it up a little bit (and also be warm), consider layering a sweater over a dress. Belt is not a requirement, but I like to cinch my waist to give my body a shape. For this outfit, I used orangey red color sweater to match the color of flower embellishment in the dress. By choosing a color that already used in the dress, it is easier to bring entire outfit together. I chose this studded belt to give a little punch, and wore a velvet black bag that has same gunmetal color of belt in the bag chain strap. Be conscious of detail like a color and type of hardware of bag, belt, jewelry and shoes really helps to look put together. Next time you think of outfit, pay attention to small detail like a color of metal part in accessory. You will be surprised how much it can make the difference. One last thing to mention about is to keep the accessary as minimal as possible. My sequin dress, sweater and belt are quite loud, so I kept the earring and shoes very simple. Hope these tips helps you to stand out in holiday parties!
