Black Friday is my absolutely favorite holiday of the year, because that’s the time when a shopaholic can shop till drop and people won’t think I am insane 🙂 In other word, this is the day I can blend in with rest of the shopper lol One time I was shopping for 27 hours straight because the mall opens overnight. Have you ever dreamt of seeing sunset at the mall? Well needless to say it was my dream and that was the day my dream became reality! Even if you are not as enthusiastic as me, who doesn’t love a great discount? Also, this is a perfect time to score Christmas present. Even better, in my case, my husband birthday is in December so this is also perfect opportunity to get his birthday gift.
My BF shopping skill got so much better with time. When I participated Black Friday 9 years ago, I remembered my hands were full with shopping bags that I had to go back to parking lot 3 times to drop them off. In the end, I end up with over 30 shopping bags. I wouldn’t say this was the successful shopping, because I ended up not wearing a lot of clothes that I bought. When atmosphere in the mall is so exciting, I can think logically. Discount is a strong spell to make us spend money. We feel like we save tons of money then, but we have to remember that if we don’t use what we buy, it is total waste of money. As my mom say, not spending any money is the best saving. As year goes by, I changed my strategy. Now, I first make a shopping list before Black Friday and that is the only thing I am going to swipe my card for. Also, I used to buy a lot of inexpensive clothes from fast fashion retailers but now I specifically aim for quality item even it is less quantity than before. This is better in longevity, and I actually found myself wearing ever single pieces that I bought. I had very successful Black Friday for last couple years and this year shouldn’t be an exception.
Every year, retailers move up the Black Friday deal and now even some brand offer same deal a week before Black Friday. Also, Black Friday deal doesn’t end after Friday and many retailers extend the deal even after Cyber Monday. Pretty much this is a great two weeks for shopaholic.
